Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-03. Version: 2026-10-03.
This policy explains what information Rolvana collects, how we use it, who receives it, and the choices and rights you have. Rolvana: Goals, Games & Cards ("Rolvana") is operated by RankPros Media LLC, a California limited liability company ("we", "us", or "our"). This policy covers the Rolvana iPhone app, our website, rolvana.app, and the Rolvana waitlist. We are responsible for your personal information as described here.
The short version
- We use your information to run Rolvana, save your progress, keep the game fair and secure, fix problems, answer you when you contact us, and send you waitlist emails if you ask for them.
- We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for targeted advertising. Rolvana has no ads.
- Rolvana is only for people who are 16 or older.
- You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing [email protected].
Who can use Rolvana
Rolvana is for people who are 16 or older. It is not directed to children. Before you can use the app, it asks for your birth month and year. Your answer is checked on your phone and is not sent to us. If you are under 16, the app does not let you continue. The app does not create your online account or start analytics or crash reporting until you pass this check.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If we learn that we have collected personal information from someone under 16, we will delete it. If you believe a person under 16 is using Rolvana, please email us at [email protected].
Information we collect
We collect information from you, from your device, from our service providers, from Apple when you buy something through the App Store, and from Apple or Google if you connect sign-in.
Your account. Rolvana saves your progress to an online account. When you first use the app, it creates this account for you automatically, without asking for your name or email address. The account is identified by a random account code.
Apple or Google sign-in (optional). If you choose to connect Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google when it is available, we receive your email address and an account ID from that service and, if the service shares them, your name and a link to your profile picture. Apple may give us a private relay email address instead of your real one. We use this information to sign you in and restore your progress.
Your progress in the app. This includes the Goals you choose and complete and when you complete them, your rewards, Rubies, Rolls, cards and duplicate cards, card pulls and pity counters, Forge actions (Burn, Combine, and Star Up), dungeon runs, Focus sessions, Brain Games results, streaks, levels, and settings. Goals you write yourself stay on your phone. We do not receive their text.
Legal acceptance records. When you accept our Terms of Use and this policy in the app, we record when you accepted, which versions you accepted, and where in the app you accepted.
Purchases, if you buy something. If you buy Rubies, a membership, or other items through the App Store, Apple handles the payment. We receive records of your App Store purchases, such as the product, the time, transaction IDs, and refund status. We do not receive your card number or other payment details. If you agree when we ask at your first purchase, we may tell Apple whether you used a purchase when Apple reviews a refund request for it. If you do not agree, we do not answer Apple's question.
Device and security information. To protect accounts and prevent cheating and fraud, our server records sign-in events together with the app version and an identifier that iOS gives to apps from the same developer (called the identifier for vendor). We store this identifier only in a scrambled (hashed) form. We also receive your time zone so that Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Goals reset at the right time.
Analytics. We use PostHog to count a small number of app events: when the app starts, when it hits a startup or display error, and when a locked or members-only feature is shown or tapped. These events are linked to a random ID that the app creates, not to your name or email address.
Crash reports. We use Sentry to receive crash and error reports. A report includes technical details about the error and what the app was doing, the app version, and your device model and operating system version. We turn off the setting that sends personal details by default.
Messages to us. If you email us, we receive your email address, your message, and anything you attach.
Our waitlist. If you join the Rolvana waitlist on our website, we collect your email address. Our email provider, EmailOctopus, also records when you signed up and confirmed, and the IP address you used. For the emails we send you, it records whether they were delivered and may record whether you opened them or clicked a link. You must be 16 or older to join.
Internet connection details. When the app or our website connects to our servers or to our service providers, they receive your IP address and basic device or browser details. An IP address can show your general area, such as your city or country. We do not collect your precise location.
Notifications. If you allow notifications, Rolvana schedules reminders on your phone. We do not collect push notification tokens. You can turn reminders off in Rolvana's Settings or in your iPhone's Settings.
What we do not collect. Rolvana does not ask for or access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or precise location, and it does not use the advertising identifier. Rolvana does not use passwords.
How we use information
We use information for the purposes below. If you are in the UK or the European Union, the table also shows the legal basis we rely on.
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Create your account, save and restore your progress, and run Goals, rewards, card pulls, the Forge, and dungeons | Contract: we need it to provide Rolvana to you |
| Handle purchases and refunds, and keep tax and accounting records | Contract and legal obligation |
| Tell Apple whether you used a purchase when Apple reviews a refund request, only if you agreed | Consent |
| Send you the waitlist emails you asked for: news about our launch and occasional updates | Consent: you can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing |
| Keep Rolvana fair and secure, and prevent cheating, fraud, and abuse | Legitimate interests: protecting players and our service |
| Find and fix crashes and errors, and understand how features are used through limited analytics | Legitimate interests: keeping Rolvana working and improving it |
| Answer your messages and handle privacy requests | Contract, legal obligation, and legitimate interests |
| Keep records of when you accepted our Terms of Use and this policy | Legal obligation, and legitimate interests in meeting legal duties and handling legal claims |
| Follow the law and respond to valid legal requests | Legal obligation |
We do not use your information for advertising, and the only marketing emails we send are the waitlist emails you ask for. We use automated checks to spot cheating and abuse, such as rewards claimed unusually fast. If we find cheating or abuse, we may limit or close the account. These checks only flag an account for review: a person on our team decides before we limit or close an account for cheating or abuse. If you think we made a mistake, email [email protected] and a person will review the decision again.
Who receives your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising (also called cross-context behavioral advertising). We share it only as described here.
Service providers that work for us. They handle information for us so we can run Rolvana:
- Supabase: hosting, database, and sign-in for your account.
- PostHog: app analytics.
- Sentry: crash and error reports.
- Google Workspace: our support email.
- EmailOctopus: our waitlist sign-up page and the emails we send to the waitlist.
- Anthropic and OpenAI: AI tools that help us read, sort, and answer support email. They receive the emails you send us. We turn off their model-training settings, so they do not train their AI models on your emails unless their safety systems flag a message for review.
- Cloudflare: hosting and visit counts for our website, and delivery of card images to the app.
Apple and Google. Apple provides the App Store, handles payment for App Store purchases, and provides Sign in with Apple. Google provides Sign in with Google. They handle your information under their own privacy policies. If you agreed, we may also answer Apple's question about whether you used a purchase, as described above.
Legal and safety reasons. We may share information if the law requires it, to respond to valid legal requests, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our players, the public, or us.
Business changes. If RankPros Media LLC is involved in a merger, sale, or transfer of its business, your information may be transferred to the new owner of Rolvana.
When you choose to share. If you use a share button in Rolvana, you choose what to share and where. The app or service you share to handles it under its own policy.
Other players. Other players cannot see your account or your activity in Rolvana. If we add features that let other players see your profile or activity, we will update this policy before those features go live.
If we add a new kind of service provider that receives personal information, we will update this policy.
How long we keep information
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists, so that you keep your progress.
If you delete your account, we delete your account data except for small legal records that show when you accepted our Terms and Privacy Policy and which versions you accepted. We keep these records for 6 years after deletion so we can meet legal duties and handle legal claims. We then erase them unless a law or legal case requires us to keep them longer. They do not include your name or email address, but they do include the account code used before deletion.
We also keep limited purchase, refund, and fraud-prevention records, including purchase and refund identifiers, pseudonymous payment keys, and matching data, for as long as the law requires so we can meet tax and accounting duties, handle refunds, and prevent fraud.
Deleted data may stay in our hosting provider's routine backups for a limited time until those backups are replaced.
Analytics events and crash reports are kept by PostHog and Sentry according to the retention settings of our accounts with them. They are linked to a random ID, not to your name or email address, and they are not deleted automatically when your account is deleted.
We keep support emails for as long as we need them to help you and to keep a record of the requests we handled.
We keep your waitlist email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. After you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a do-not-email list so that we respect your choice, unless you ask us to delete it.
Data stored in the Rolvana app on your phone stays on your phone. To erase it, open Rolvana and go to Settings -> Reset App Data. Reset App Data only affects your phone. It does not delete your account on our servers.
Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of your personal information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing [email protected]. To delete your account, see our Account and Data Deletion page. You can turn reminders off at any time, and you can leave our waitlist with the unsubscribe link in any waitlist email. We will not treat you differently for using your privacy rights.
Before we act on a request, we may need to confirm that it comes from the person the information is about. Please do not send passwords, identity documents, or payment card details. If we cannot find the account or confirm the request, we will tell you. We aim to respond without undue delay and within the time allowed by the law that applies to you.
United States privacy rights
Depending on the US state where you live, including California, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it, to get a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would give you a right to limit it. To use your rights, email [email protected]. An authorized agent may make a request for you, and we may ask for proof that you authorized them. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer and asking us to reconsider.
Here are the categories of personal information we collect:
| Category | What it includes in Rolvana |
|---|---|
| Identifiers | Your random account code, the random app ID used for analytics, the scrambled device identifier, your IP address, and your email address if you connect Apple or Google sign-in, email us, or join our waitlist |
| Commercial information | Records of App Store purchases and refunds, if you make purchases |
| Internet or other electronic network activity | Your progress and activity in Rolvana, analytics events, crash reports, visits to our website, and whether you opened or clicked our waitlist emails |
| Approximate location | The general area that can be inferred from your IP address, and your time zone |
We collect this information from the sources in "Information we collect". We use it for the purposes in "How we use information", disclose it to the service providers in "Who receives your information", and keep it for the periods in "How long we keep information". In the past 12 months, we have not sold or shared personal information. California residents may also ask whether we disclosed personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing. We do not.
Our website does not track you across other websites, so it does not respond differently to Do Not Track signals. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of sale and sharing, which we already do not do.
UK and European Union privacy rights
If you are in the UK or the European Union, you have the right to access your personal information, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, receive it in a portable format, object to our use of it when we rely on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent you gave us. The legal bases we rely on are in "How we use information". To use these rights, email [email protected]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, or, in the European Union, to your local data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.
Canada privacy rights
If you are in Canada, you can ask to access your personal information and ask us to correct it. You can also ask for the personal information you gave us in a structured, commonly used electronic format, and ask us to send it to a person or organization that the law allows to collect it. You can withdraw your consent to our use of your information, subject to legal and contract limits. For example, we need your account data to provide Rolvana. We answer these requests in writing.
Person in charge. Our Privacy Officer is the person in charge of the protection of personal information for Rolvana. This role is held by the founder of RankPros Media LLC. You can reach the Privacy Officer at [email protected].
How we manage personal information. Our Privacy Officer approves our privacy rules and makes sure we follow them. Only the people who run Rolvana, using the tools named in this policy, can access player information, and only when they need it to run Rolvana, answer you, or keep Rolvana fair and secure. Our service providers can use it only to provide their services to us and to keep their own services safe and lawful. We keep information only for the periods in "How long we keep information" and then delete it. We keep a record of privacy incidents, and we tell you and the authorities about an incident when the law requires it.
Privacy complaints. To make a privacy complaint, email [email protected] and tell us what happened. Our Privacy Officer reviews every privacy complaint and answers you in writing. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca or, in Quebec, to the Commission d'accès à l'information.
Australia privacy rights
If you are in Australia, you can ask to access and correct your personal information. If you have a privacy complaint, please contact us first at [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
New Zealand privacy rights
If you are in New Zealand, the Privacy Act 2020 applies to how we handle your personal information. You can ask to access your personal information and ask us to correct it, and we will reply within 20 working days. Our Privacy Officer can be reached at [email protected]. If you have a privacy complaint, please contact us first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the New Zealand Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Information stored outside your country
RankPros Media LLC is based in the United States. We and our service providers store and process information in the United States, the European Union, and the United Kingdom, and some providers, such as Google and Cloudflare, also process it in other countries where they operate. If you use Rolvana outside the United States, your information will be transferred to these countries, which may have different data protection laws from yours. If you are in Canada, including Quebec, this means your information is sent outside Quebec and outside Canada. Where the law requires it, we use safeguards for these transfers, such as data protection contract terms with our service providers. While your information is in another country, the courts, law enforcement, and national security authorities of that country may be able to access it under its laws.
How we protect information
We protect information with measures such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls on our servers, and keeping your sign-in details on your phone in the iPhone's secure keychain. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that information will never be accessed without permission.
Our website
rolvana.app is hosted by Cloudflare. It does not use cookies for advertising or analytics. It saves your light or dark theme choice in your browser's local storage. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits to our pages without cookies, without storing anything in your browser, and without tracking you across other websites. Our home page loads an animation library from unpkg.com, a public code network, which receives your IP address and browser details when you visit. Our waitlist sign-up page is hosted by EmailOctopus on its own site (eo.page), not on rolvana.app. That page uses Google reCAPTCHA to block spam sign-ups, so Google receives your IP address and browser details and may set its own cookies.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If we make a material change, we will tell you before it takes effect, for example in the app or on this website.
